Two Little Owls

Nicole has two sons who mean the world to her; she contacted me about a small tattoo she had on her left forearm; two little owls representing her sons. She wanted to know if I could cover it with a larger tattoo taking up most of her forearm, using two larger owls, still for her sons but also including imagery from the Pacific Northwest. She and her sons do a lot of hiking and camping together in our beautiful environment. I said, "Of course! What types of imagery from the PNW would you like? We can make it look like they are in the forest, hanging out together." We decided on ferns (good for cover up tattoos) fiddlehead ferns, mushrooms, acorns, etc., some of the wonderful plants we see in our forests.
Here are some photos of the planned drawing, before, and very fresh outline stage.
