A little while ago Rachel emailed me, asking if I'd be available a month and a half out to do a small tattoo for her, even though she'd be coming from out of town, with a limited amount of time to fit any appointments in. We worked it out so that we did her consultation when she got into Portland, on her way out to the coast. Then we did her inking appointment when she came back into town, on her way home (out of state.) I'm happy to work with people from other states (and countries) if I get enough notice; it's usually just a matter of scheduling. She says, "The last year has been a tough year, and I have been working on healing. I have for whatever reason been drawn to the oceans— love the sounds of the waves, their energy, all of it.

"I decided on a solo trip to the Oregon coast to get my ocean fix, and at the same time decided on a tattoo with water/waves/ocean, as when I have slowed down to just breathe, I visualize my inhale with the water coming up on the beach, and my exhale being the water going back out to sea. It’s been soothing and I wanted to get a tattoo to symbolize not only this trip, but the importance of pausing to breathe."

Here are some photos of her drawings, very fresh outline and final stages.
