Sri Lankan Tribal First Tattoo

Raj's heritage is Sri Lankan and so for his first tattoo, he wanted a tribal piece that would reflect that heritage (an excellent reason to get a tattoo.) Sri Lankan art is colorful, ornate, detailed and representational.

But Raj wanted something more Polynesian or typically "tribal" so I did some research and created this piece to be a compromise between the two styles. It's a good start for a first tat and he can build on it, if he later decides he wants to continue to add more ink, to complete out the sleeve for that arm.
