A powerful symbol of change and transformation across cultures, the Phoenix dies in flames and rises from the ashes triumphant. I've always thought it was a fantastic creature and as a concept, it makes for some amazing tattoos. That's why I was happy when Sabrina came in to my studio and said she wanted a tribal Phoenix on her left arm. She says, "I've been wanting to get a phoenix tattoo for over a decade, but the timing just never seemed right. I would go online and research different designs, different artists, but never quite felt a 'yes' until I saw Victoria's website! I knew she was the artist I wanted to work with, and the timing couldn't have been better. "The past couple years of my life had been exceptionally challenging, full of loss and failure, and I was ready to do *something* to mark a fresh start for me. Since the phoenix is a multi-cultural symbol for inner will and rebirth, it felt like just the thing I needed to start a new (and hopefully better) chapter in my life."
Here are some pictures of the drawing, outline, and gray shading stages.
